Single Station

Remove the factory mat, check its part number and snap in the base plate. Then put the dock together, plug in the 12V adapter and clip it in. Please read the printable guide before you start: it covers every step with drawings.

Three pages: prepare the console, assemble and install, then final checks and troubleshooting. Prints on Letter paper.

Check the mat first. Lift out the rubber charging mat and look on the back: the part number should include S9000. If it doesn’t, contact us before going further. Your console may be different, and the dock may not fit.

Good to know

  • Curved edge to the front. The base plate’s pins drop into the same holes as the mat’s pegs. Press around each corner until every pin snaps in.
  • Power. Plug the charger’s USB-C cable into the included 12V adapter, and the adapter into the 12V socket on the left side.
  • Phone not lining up with the charger? The charging plate has four height positions: A1, A2, B1 and B2. Most phones fit A2. The guide shows how to change it.

Troubleshooting

Do the two final checks after every install. Most problems come down to one of them.

Final check 1 (step 7): Is your phone touching the dash or console?
Phone on the installed dock with red circles at the top, where the phone meets the dash, and at the bottom, where it meets the console

Put your phone on the charger and look at the two red zones. The phone and its case must not touch the dash at the top or the console at the bottom. If they touch, the magnet can’t pull the phone flat and it won’t stay on.

  • Hitting at the top? Move the charging plate to a lower position.
  • Hitting at the bottom? Move it to a higher position.
  • You can also turn the plate around (A and B ends). See step 4 and the height chart on page 2 of the guide.
Final check 2 (step 8): Is the dock locked in?
  • The factory rubber mat is out of the tray (see step 1).
  • The dock doesn’t move. It shouldn’t slide side to side or front to back, or wobble. If it moves, the base plate pins aren’t all snapped in. Press down around each corner until every pin snaps into place (see step 3).
  • No broken clips or pins. A clip or pin that broke during install won’t lock in. Contact us for a replacement part.
  • Every clip is fully in slot 1 or slot 2, never between them (see steps 4 and 6).
A clip fully in slot 1 (OK), fully in slot 2 (OK), and sitting between the two slots (wrong)

Once pressed together, the charging plate and supports should be hard to pull apart. If they come apart easily, a clip isn’t seated.

My phone won’t stay on the magnet

Test it out of the car. Unclip the charging plate, set it on a table and put your phone on the charger.

Sticks on the table but not in the car? Something in the console is in the way. Do final check 1 (step 7) and change the plate height or turn it around (see step 4).

Won’t stick even on the table? The magnet sits about 1/8 in above the plate, which leaves room for the camera bump on the back of the phone. Make sure the camera bump or case isn’t touching the plate.

Side view of a phone on the charger. OK: flat on the magnet with a gap under the camera bump. Problem: the camera bump or case touches the plate and the phone lifts off the magnet.
The dock moves or wobbles

Check the factory mat is out (see step 1) and every base plate pin has snapped into the console (see step 3). Once installed, the dock should not move at all. Also look for a broken clip or pin: if one broke during install, it won’t lock in. Contact us for a replacement part.

The charging plate or a support comes apart

A clip is probably sitting between slots 1 and 2 (see steps 4 and 6). Press it fully into one slot. Pressed together, the parts should be hard to separate.

My phone isn’t charging

Push the 12V adapter fully into the socket and check that the charger’s USB-C cable is plugged into the adapter (see step 5).

Does my phone or case work?

Phones need Qi2 or MagSafe magnets, built in or through a slim magnetic case. Very thick cases may not fit. Check your phone.
